Notadi v0.13 – Notebooks: group your places, then invite friends to add to them
· Notadi Team
Tags are now Notebooks. Group the places you love into notebooks, then invite friends, your partner or your whole travel crew to add places to one shared notebook.
Some lists are too big for one person to keep.
The noodle place your team always ends up at after work. The cafés the two of you keep meaning to try. The stops for next month's trip, with everyone pitching in an idea.
Until now, those lists lived everywhere: in a group chat, in everyone's phone notes, in a Google Maps link someone sent that got buried.
Notadi v0.13 brings them together: Notebooks.
Tags are now Notebooks
If you already used tags to organize your places, you don't need to do anything. Every tag you had is now a Notebook, in the new Notebooks tab on the navigation bar.
Each notebook is a group of places with its own name and icon:
- Cafés to work from
- Breakfast near home
- Kyoto, November 2026
- Places to take Mom
A place can live in more than one notebook. Removing a place from a notebook doesn't delete it, it just leaves that notebook. Deleting a whole notebook works the same way: your places stay on your map.
At the top of the Notebooks tab you'll always find All places, with everything you've ever saved.
Shared notebooks: write in the same notebook together
This is the part we're most excited about.
Open any notebook → tap Invite → send the link to friends on WhatsApp, Messenger, or anywhere else. They tap it and they're in. Your notebook is now a shared notebook.
From then on, every member can:
- Add their own places to the notebook
- See every place in the notebook, along with who added it
- Invite more people with their own invite link
A shared notebook holds up to 50 members, enough for a whole class, team, or extended family.
No link? In the Notebooks tab, tap Have an invite code? and type the 6-character code. Codes skip look-alike characters like 0 and O or 1 and I, so they're easy to read out over the phone.
Private stays private
Sharing a notebook doesn't mean sharing everything.
- Your private notes stay yours. Other members see the place, not the lines you wrote for yourself.
- Notadi asks before a notebook becomes shared. The first time you tap Invite, the app tells you how many places the people you invite will see, so you can decide.
- Home warning. If a place in the notebook looks like someone's home, Notadi reminds you to take it out before sharing.
- A second check for private places. Adding a place marked private to a shared notebook? The app confirms with you before other members can see it.
- You choose what the invite page shows. People who open your invite link can preview a few places in the notebook, or you can turn the preview off.
You stay in control
The notebook owner can:
- Rename the notebook or change its icon
- Remove a member (the places they added are removed with them)
- Create a new invite link, which immediately turns off every old one
- Make someone else the owner
Members can leave any time, and the places they added leave with them.
If the owner deletes a shared notebook, every member has 7 days to copy the places they added into a notebook of their own. Nobody loses their work because someone else tidied up.
Just enough notifications
You'll get a notification when someone joins a shared notebook or adds a new place to it. But:
- At most 3 notebook notifications a day, no matter how busy a notebook gets
- Mute notifications for any single notebook, which only affects you
A few ways to use shared notebooks
| Notebook | Who adds to it |
|---|---|
| Good food near the office | The whole team, one place each |
| Date night | The two of you, places to go together |
| Bali trip | The whole group, collecting stops before you leave |
| Doctors and schools for the kids | Parents and grandparents |
| Photo spots in the city | Your photography friends |
Update now
