Notadi v0.15 – Build your map from your photos, first places in about a second
· Notadi Team
Notadi now reads the location and date of your photos to find the places you've been. Places you visit most come first, places you already saved are skipped, and your photos stay on your device until you choose to save a place.
Your photo library is already a map. Nobody has drawn it yet.
The café where you shot last week's latte. The beach from last summer's trip. The alley with the bakery you photographed so you'd remember its name. Every photo carries a place and a date.
Notadi v0.15 reads them and draws the places you've been.
Find the places you've taken photos
Open Import Memories → tap Find places I've been.
Notadi reads your library from newest to oldest, groups photos taken at the same spot into one place, and fills the list as it goes. The first places appear in about a second, even with thousands of photos. You don't wait for the scan to finish before you start choosing.
The first scan stops at around 30 places. To go further back, tap Scan older photos.
- Places you visit most come first. The café with 40 photos sits above the one you visited once.
- Places already on your map are skipped. Photos taken within 100 m of a place you saved don't create a duplicate.
- Addresses fill in as you look. Each card shows its photo count first, the address right after.
Pick what to keep, import in one tap
Scroll the list, untick what you don't need, and tap Import. Each place is saved with up to 3 photos, and they all land on your map at once.
The free plan holds 10 places, so Notadi pre-selects only the slots you have left and tells you how many remain.
Your photos stay on your device
Before asking for photo access, Notadi tells you three things:
- Your photos stay on your phone
- Only the location and date are read
- You choose which places to save, 3 photos each
While scanning, Notadi reads only each photo's location and date. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing is pulled down from iCloud. Only when you tap Import are up to 3 photos per chosen place resized and saved with that place.
If you gave Notadi access to some photos only, Select more photos lets you widen it any time. If you said no, Open Settings takes you to the right switch. And Choose photos myself is always there.
On Android (and on iPhone without Photos access), you pick up to 50 photos yourself, 1–3 per place: trips, regular spots, places that matter. Notadi groups them by place the same way.
First launch: a place on your map right away
An empty map is an easy map to forget. From v0.15, right after you sign in, Notadi asks how you want to start:
- Pin where you are: name it with one tap (Home, Work, Favorite spot, Cafe) and tap Save this place. Photos and notes can come later.
- Build my map from photos: straight to the photo scan above.
- Maybe later: if you'd rather look around first.
Adding a place by hand is lighter too: only the name is required, the address no longer blocks saving.
Fixes
- Fixed an issue that could sign you out unexpectedly.
- Faster, smaller photo uploads.
Update now
