72h Coastal Route: A Weekend in Lan Ha Bay
· Adventure Team
Join the Adventure Team as we explore the hidden beaches and floating villages of Lan Ha Bay in a 3-day itinerary.
Lan Ha Bay: The Quiet Neighbor of Ha Long
While Ha Long Bay gets most of the international attention, Lan Ha Bay offers equally stunning karst scenery with a fraction of the crowds.
Located just south of its famous neighbor, Lan Ha consists of around 400 limestone islands covered in lush vegetation.
The 3-Day Plan
Day 1: Cat Ba Island Arrival
Start your journey at Beo Pier. Instead of a large cruise, we recommend hiring a local wooden boat.
- Morning: Depart from Beo Pier, cruise through the fishing villages.
- Afternoon: Kayak through the Dark & Bright Cave.
- Evening: Stay overnight on a boutique cruise or a floating homestay.
Day 2: Deep Water Soloing & Secret Beaches
Expert climbers love Lan Ha Bay for its deep-water soloing spots.
"The water is emerald green and deep enough to fall safely from 10 meters."
If climbing isn't your thing, head to Van Boi Beach for a secluded swim.
Day 3: Viet Hai Village
Take a bicycle ride into the heart of Cat Ba National Park to visit Viet Hai Village. It's a valley that was isolated from the outside world for decades.
